A century of basmati.
Four generations of obsession.
From a single village in Uttar Pradesh to 44+ countries across 7 continents — the story of how Shri Lal Mahal came to rule the world of premium basmati and non-basmati rice.

The legacy that began with one farmer's word.
The story of Shri Lal Mahal is the story of how, with the right blend of entrepreneurial instinct and honest hard work, a small Uttar Pradesh business house came to rule the world of basmati and non-basmati rice.
Founded in 1907 by the late Lala Mauji Ram — a humble farmer with an obsession for grain quality — Shri Lal Mahal grew from a single-village mill into one of India's most decorated rice exporters: 17 times the APEDA largest exporter, the first to ship 5,000 MT of basmati to Europe (1978), and the holder of an industry record of 16 international shipments in a single month.
Across four generations, one principle has never changed — quality is the only currency that compounds. Today, premium Shri Lal Mahal basmati sits on shelves in 44+ countries because the same word our founder gave his customers in 1907 still ships in every grain we send out today.
“Honest hard work, the right entrepreneurial instinct, and never a compromise on quality.”

A perfect recipe for the perfect rice.
Serving you a spoonful of flavours — milled, polished and packed across three precision-engineered stages. Every grain that leaves a Shri Lal Mahal facility has earned its place.

Husk Aspiration
The husk is separated from the brown rice or unhusked paddy — the first cleansing step on the journey from field to plate.
Paddy Separation
The brown rice is precisely separated from any remaining unhusked paddy, ensuring uniformity in every batch.
Whitening
As the grains reach the final stage, the bran covering is removed — brown rice becomes the polished, premium white grain you know.
If the journey moved you, the facility will leave you speechless.
Walk our paddy yards, watch our optical sorters at work, taste rice straight off the grader. Visits are arranged at our Delhi · Haryana · Gujarat facilities — reach out and we'll confirm dates.
